What is SEO? In this blog post, I will break down the definition into three parts: Quality of Traffic, Quantity of Traffic, and Organic Results. The Quality of Traffic is when you try to drive relevant traffic to your target. For example, if you are trying to attract visitors to a computer website, it wouldn’t make sense to direct them to car link’s. Quantity of Traffic is how much traffic you generate for a certain page. This is vital to raise awareness and interest. Lastly, Organic Results are traffic that you don’t have to pay for, which is shown below the paid traffic section. Organic results are basically unpaid traffic that comes from SERPs (Search Engine Results Page).
How does SEOs work? SEO ranks websites on the first page of google in attempt to drive as much traffic as possible. A few of it its elements are its website name, URL, meta tag, design, accessibility, and usability. All of these elements are taken into consideration when a website is trying to rank on Google.
The SEO Cycle:
- Crawling: Every SEO has a software called a Crawler. It basically
“crawls” your website content.
- Indexing: Is post-crawling content that’s stored in a database. The database can then be accessed and retrieved when the user enters a certain keyword or phrase.
- Search Work: Is when the Search Engine contrasts certain phrases with indexed pages, then stores it in the database. It basically measures the relevancy of all the pages and matches.
- Algorithms: Is a diagnostic which takes a search, sorts it through different keywords, and makes sure the URL has relevancy.
Content is one of the most important parts of SEO. It is the main message you are trying to convey to your audience. It is important to provide useful and relevant content that aims to target and retain the target demographic while leading them to perform the action you want them to. Content can be in multiple forms, including: Podcasts, Social Media, Blogs, Videos, etc.
The Visibility and Ranking of your website should also be taken into consideration. In the end, you are ultimately trying to increase your sites visibility, which increases your sites possibility, and which ultimately determines how successful your site will become.
Lastly, it is important to focus on your Web Traffic. This is your main goal as a SEO. As your websites traffic increases, so does your visibility. It is important to take in consideration that around 33% of clicks go to the first ranking page, and the first five listings get over 75% of all clicks.
So what can we gather from all of this? SEO is a process of maximizing the number of visitors to a particular website by using different optimizing techniques to rank in the search engine. By following the techniques listed above, you can start your SEO journey and launch the business of your dreams!
